bio has always been one of my interest... an interesting subject..amazing facts tt i take in with awe... especially so in jc, whr there's nice bio tutors... especially...mrs anantha, who loves me & my friends alot! although its not a nice subj. to mug for, but yes i do like bio...
biodiversity has always been one of my fav topics in bio... but its enzymes tt taught me a lesson or two...
learnt about the lock & key hypothesis.. whr the substrate & active sit of enzyme are actually complementary in shape & charges... just like a "key" fitting into a "lock" to form an unstable enzyme-substrate (ES) complex... in layman's term, in life, it indicates the "perfect story"
there's sthing tt we learnt too - Induced fit hypothesis... the active site of the enzyme may not be exactly complementary to that of the substrate, but it still can attract its substrate if it have a shape tt is close to the substrate... what will actually happen is that, when the substrate combines with the active site, the active site alters its shape & moulds itself ard the substrate... to result in a precise fit, to form the ES complex...
we all know that the "perfect story" dont exist at all... (yes maybe in fairy tales whr the prince will marry the girl & they live happily ever after..) but in this not- at- all fairy tale world, we shldnt waste too much time harping on or looking for the perfect way to lead our lives... but instead to make the best out of what we have... be it, to change to achieve it, or to work hard & smart to achieve the best that we cld...
